What Is a Plastic Crusher Machine?

A plastic crusher machine reduces plastic waste into uniform flakes using a rotating blade rotor that cuts against fixed knives. Plastic waste is fed into the cutting chamber, where the rotor blades shear the material against stationary blades until pieces are small enough to pass through the screen.

What it processes

Crushers handle PET bottles, HDPE containers, film, pipes, sheets and injection or extrusion scrap. The rotor, blade geometry and screen size are configured for the material to deliver a consistent flake size for washing or granulating.

Where it fits

For bottle and container streams, the crusher is usually the first step before washing. Water-cooled crushing reduces heat build-up and helps carry away dirt, preparing the material for the rest of the line.
